Immersive Reality

We are offering the opportunity for children who have already undertaken Bikeability Level 2 training in Cambridge, Northampton and Peterborough to participate in an exciting Immersive Reality Cycle Training Study led by Brunel University, Outspoken Training and The Bikeability Trust.

About the Study

The study is free for Year 5 and 6 pupils who have received Bikeability Level 2 training.

During 2 onsite visits they will have the opportunity to work with a qualified Bikeability instructor to undertake:

  • 3x on-road cycling assessments (instructors will feedback to parents/carers at the end of each visit)
  • 1x VR headset interventions with some real-world footage
  • Watch video clips from a cyclist’s perspective and answer questions.
  • Complete some online questionnaires.

Your child will receive a £30 Amazon gift card once they have completed the study.

What will my child need?

Participants will need to bring their own roadworthy bicycle. A helmet and Hi-Viz will be provided.

Parents/Carers will need to provide their child with an electronic device to complete the ‘at home’ online surveys.

We would recommend your child has a drink and a snack with them, particularly for the Onsite visits.
