Level 2 Award in Instructing Cycle Training (L2AICT)

This qualification equips learners with the skills, knowledge and enthusiasm to become a cycle training instructor. Upon completion, individuals will be able to deliver the National Standard for Cycle Training and Bikeability cycle training for accredited providers in England.

Guided Learning Hours: 71

Qualification Duration: Approximately 92 hours including gaining practical experience of delivering training

Assessment Methods: Learner Portfolio and Final Assessment

What does the qualification cover?

We provide training and support with:

Understanding the roles and responsibilities of the cycle training instructor

Planning cycle training and assessment

Delivering cycle training and assessment

Reviewing cycle training and assessment

Planning to improve professional practice

Qualification Timeline:

Book onto a course and the qualification

Attend a cycle instructor course; this involves three days of
in-person training and one day of virtual training

Complete 11 online assessment tasks and upload these to your Learner Portfolio

Undertake a Final Assessment

Prerequisites

Prior to registration, learners must:

Be at least 16 years of age

Be able to cycle competently, confidently and consistently to Bikeability Level 3 standard

Be able to communicate effectively in English (this includes listening, speaking, reading and writing).
