Outspoken Retain Peterborough Bikeability Contract

It is official! Outspoken has retained the Peterborough Bikeability contract to enable us to continue delivering cycle training to the city’s schools.

Outspoken has been working with Peterborough City Council since 2012 to deliver Bikeability cycle training. In that time, we have reached 17,000 pupils across 66 schools. Peterborough was one of the first authorities to embrace the whole school approach where different cycling intentions from balance bikes to Level 3 cycle training are delivered at various points in a child school life. This has served to embed cycle training within pupils’ lives, creating multiple opportunities to upskill and enthuse children to become lifelong cyclists.

In addition to our regular Bikeability delivery we have also:

  • won a Cycle Planning Award for our whole school cycle to school project.
  • had a Peterborough instructor win Bikeability instructor of the year.
  • trialled Immersive Reality cycle training with local pupils.

Kieron, Managing Director, said:

“Congratulations to our Peterborough team for their exception work inspiring more people to cycle which has enable us to secure the new contract. It is a pleasure to work with our instructors, Peterborough City Council, school staff, parents/carers and pupils to help bring the joy of cycling to more people. We look forward to many more enjoyable years striving to achieve our mission to get more people commuting by cycle.”

Outspoken and Peterborough City Council have been set the challenge to expand cycle training delivery further within the city. If you are interested in helping us achieve our aims, please visit our vacancies page.
