Cycle Skills Training
For employers, ensuring all employees feel safe and confident on their journey to work is crucial.
Individuals’ needs vary considerably, so we offer a range of training options, including one-to-one and group sessions. Whether your colleagues are getting on a bike for the first time or are regular cyclists looking to improve their skills on busy roads, we can provide tailored courses to suit individual abilities and goals.
One-to-One Training
Individuals’ needs vary so we offer a range of tailored 2-hour sessions for:
New Cyclists – learn to ride
Rusty Riders – returning to cycling
Residential Riders – boost your confidence cycling on the road
Advanced Commuters – route planning and refining skills
Specialist Bikers – adaptive cycles, cargo, e-bike and tandem training
Organisations can now purchase one-to-one cycle skills vouchers for any employees, students, etc, who may wish to receive 2 hours of training. For more information on these, please get in touch.
On-road Group Training
We run confidence boosting on-road cycle training for groups of up to 10 people with 2 qualified National Standard Instructors. Using your organisation as a starting point, we take employees out on local roads on their bikes to help familiarise them with local junctions and routes to and from work. During the session employees gain practical experience and practice with:
Preparing to cycle
Hazard perception
Interacting and communicating with other road users
Taking effective road positions
Understanding the rules of the road
Route planning
Participants will need to be able to ride independently and be able to control their bikes well off-road prior to the session.
What will participants need?
A roadworthy bicycle, a helmet (if wearing one) and suitable clothing for the weather conditions.
