Businesses & Organisations
We provide a comprehensive range of services to businesses and organisations to support their travel plan and help promote cycling to work, and health and wellbeing.
Dr Bike Mobile Workshop
We offer timetabled weekly, monthly or even one-off sessions where we come to your place of work to service employees bikes. We offer many different levels of service from a safety check and minor service to a complete bike shop facility.
For most businesses we arrive using one of our specialist cargo bikes, pop up up a gazebo and set about working on employees bikes. We ensure there is plenty of opportunity to ask questions and employees are encouraged to watch the mechanic at work and pick up any tips and advice. We also offer maintenance ride support for events and we can also run drop in Dr Bikes at festivals, fairs and community events, helping to promote active travel.
We have a simple booking system to make it easy for you to manage and the cost can be borne by the employer or individuals. For more information please get in touch or visit our Workshop page for more information on our workshop services.
Our interactive seminars provide information to help commuters ensure that they are using the roads safely and effectively.
Using photos of local roads and traffic features, we discuss challenges around hazard perception, road positioning and the importance of awareness. This is a really good way of getting ‘advanced’ cyclists to be involved in improving their cycling and as a ‘taster’ for the take-up of practical cycle training. Many of our seminars are relevant to car users as they improve understanding and build relations between the two groups.
We also provide talks for particular times of the year or specific reasons, such as ‘winterising your bike’ in the Autumn. For more information, please get in touch
Maintenance Demonstration Sessions
The most common reason we hear people don't cycle to work is the fear of a puncture. Our one-hour Maintenance Demonstration Sessions are designed to give employees the confidence and knowledge to fix a puncture, along with other fundamental repairs, so they can confidently ride to work all year round. We run two different sessions, puncture repair, and adjusting gears and brakes. At an hour each they can work as standalone sessions over a lunch break, or work well together as a pair.
Our qualified mechanics have a wealth of experience teaching maintenance courses and love to get people back out riding on their bikes. We offer discounts for sessions booked alongside Dr Bikes and booked in pairs. For more information please get in touch.
We specialise in a range of cycle-themed events to help promote active travel, and health and wellbeing. The activities are all great fun and make great team building events, as well as promoting sustainability and energy use. Activities range from our popular Smoothie Bikes through to our Pedal Powered Cinema - great for staff film nights! - and our hyper-competitive Cycle Sprints. We can even bring leaders boards so colleagues can battle for the win!
As they're pedal powered, our activities need no external power and all can be run indoors or outdoors using our large gazebos. They can all also be used wearing everyday workwear.
With a passion for all things cycling our enthusiastic staff deliver events across the country all year round. We can brand our equipment with your branding and we’re always happy to work with you to tailor-make a programme of events to suit to your needs and budget. For more information visit our Events page or get in touch.
For employers, ensuring that all employees feel safe and confident on their journey to work is crucial. Studies show that the best way to achieve this is through confidence boosting, cycle training.
Individuals’ needs vary considerably, so we offer a range of training options, including one-to-one and group training. Whether your colleagues are getting on a bike for the first time or are regular cyclists looking to improve their skills on busy roads, we can provide tailored courses to suit individual abilities and goals.
More information can be found on our adult cycle training web page.
