Bikeability’s Newest Recruits

The new year is well underway and school bookings for Bikeability training are continuing to build as we move towards the busiest period for the cycle training industry and Outspoken Training.

Thankfully, we have just completed our first 4-day National Standard Instructor (NSI) course of 2017 resulting in several enthusiastic instructors who are keen to get delivering Bikeability cycle training.

The trainees came together at The Bike Depot in Cambridge and enjoyed a fun-packed 4 days with Stuart, one of our NSIT trainers. Throughout the course the trainee’s engaged with a mixture of practical and theory sessions to cover topics such as;

  • Knowledge of the National Standard and Bikeability outcomes
  • Risk assessing and risk management
  • Session planning
  • Safeguarding and Welfare
  • Teaching methods

“The course was very comprehensive, covering the essential requirements through classroom sessions and out on the road, giving us the chance to put our learning into practise. I now feel I have the knowledge, and confidence, to deliver the Bikeability training.” – Course Trainee.

Outspoken take pride in our approach to giving each trainee the attention and support they need throughout the course. We offer daily individual feedback and encourage self-reflection learning to identify strengths and areas for development. The engaging NSIT trainers who deliver the courses are professional and understand how to develop people through positive feedback and excellent coaching.

“Stuart who led the course, delivered the programme thoroughly and made it fun. He clearly knows his stuff and his passion and enthusiasm for the job really came across” – Course Trainee.

We wish the new recruits all the best in their new career. If you would like to become a National Standard Cycling Instructor then please get in touch. You can find more information here:
