New National Standard for Cycle Training Published

After a year of consultation between industry experts and key stakeholders, the new National Standard for Cycle Training was approved has officially been published:

The new National Standard for Cycle Training now sits alongside the National Standards for Driving and Riding on the DVSA website for the first time:

The announced was part of a wider package of cycling related announcements, including:

  • Publication of the summary of responses of the CWIS Safety Review
  • Announced a review of the Highway Code in relation to cyclists and pedestrians
 
The next step is for the Bikeability Delivery Guides to be created before cycle training providers can begin implementing the new National Standard in 2019.
